About Us

The Trop (WsM) Ltd was the spearhead company which joined forces with a group of local business people who campaigned to stop the proposed demolition by North Somerset Council of the Tropicana. The purpose was to inject new life into this Iconic heritage site and building with the aim of refurbishing/developing the whole area creating a high-quality swimming pool /Leisure and Music facility.  The group aim to deliver an exciting beachside facility back to residents and visitors to Weston-super-Mare and North Somerset.

After a successful campaign lasting two years culminating with the Secretary of State halting the demolition of the building, the campaign group The Trop (WsM) Ltd was superseded by The Trop Trust. Trustees have been appointed taking on the task of working with a volunteer enabling team (consisting of local and respected business people) to oversee fund raising and grant applications to finance the project. This work is ongoing.

We welcome new members who can contribute their support, time or resource to help with the cause.
